Used Book Donation and Sales Update -

Summer 2022

The Used Book Shelves at the Library are filled with great books that need a new home.  Come shop and see the books available for readers of all ages.

The used book inventory has grown during the pandemic and the Friends has not been able to host a large book sale event in several years.  We hope to host a bargain book sale when there is meeting space available at the Library to do so.  Right now, the Library, Parks and Recreation Department and other City needs have first priority in using the meeting rooms.  Once the Senior Center is remodeled and the activities are moved back to that building, the Friends may be able to host a large bargain book sale.

Because we have so many used books in the inventory, we have run out of storage space to accept more.  As a result, the Friends are pausing accepting used book donations over the summer until our inventory is down to a manageable level.  We will not able to make used book donation appointments until the Fall.  We are sorry to disappoint many of you who think of donating used items to the Library; we recommend that you consider other libraries in the area, Goodwill or Half-Price Books for donating your used book collections.

Some of you may have just a few books to donate (or up to a grocery sack size).  You may bring them into the Library during normal business hours.  Please check in with the staff at the Help Desk.  Please see what items are acceptable by visiting the Used Book and Donation Guidelines tab on this website.

Please do not deposit any used book donations in the book drop offs; you may damage the equipment the Library needs to process the returns from Library patrons.

Please check this website or our Facebook page for details on when appointments will resume.

Thank you for your support and understanding.
